Description
Auxerrois is a grape variety originating from Lorraine, and more precisely from the famous Laquenexy fruit growing centre. Auxerrois, a cousin of Pinot Blanc, is perfectly adapted to clay-limestone soils.
Its very fruity nose is divided between nuts and yellow fruits. Its frank and fresh mouth develops a beautiful aromatic expression. Its structure is velvety, soft and joyful.
To be drunk chilled but not excessively, preferably cooled in an ice bucket.
Ageing potential: to be enjoyed young, but 3 to 5 years will give it a pleasant maturity.
Food and Wine pairing
This ideal companion of simple and convivial dishes will marry perfectly with mixed salads, white meats, fish in sauce, raclettes and creamy goat or sheep cheeses.
